Billing
Plans, payments, freezes and family accounts, all running on Stripe.
How payments are handled
Billing runs on Stripe. Card details are entered directly into Stripe and never touch our servers — we store only the record of what was charged and whether it succeeded.
That also means your members' payment methods stay portable. You are not locked into us to keep charging them.
Membership plans
A plan sets the price, the billing interval and what access it grants. Members are attached to a plan, and changes take effect from the next billing period unless you choose otherwise.
Cards on file and retries
Members can save a card, and can update it themselves from the member portal without going through you. When a payment fails, Stripe retries automatically on a schedule rather than silently giving up.
Failed and overdue payments surface in your billing view so you can see the whole picture rather than discovering a gap months later.
Money never sends on its own
This is deliberate and it is enforced by the platform, not by a setting you have to remember. Any automated message that touches money — a failed payment, an overdue balance, a price change — is prepared as a draft and waits for a person to approve it.
Automations can chase attendance and win back students on their own if you enable it. They will never message a member about money without you seeing it first.
Freezes and cancellations
Freeze a membership for injury, travel or a break, and billing pauses for that period. The member keeps their history, their grading progress and their place — nothing is lost and nothing needs rebuilding when they come back.
Family accounts
Siblings and parents sit together in one household. You can bill a household as a single payment, or keep separate payments per member — both are supported, and plenty of gyms run a mix. Guardian-routed communication applies to every under-18 in the household regardless of how they're billed.
